Lady Louise Windsor absolutely wowed fans as she attended this year's Trooping the Colour, marking a stunning appearance alongside her parents, the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Royal watchers were thrilled to see the 20 year old university student gracing the event, especially after being left wanting last time when she was notably absent.

Although reported that it is unlikely the student will become an official working Royal Family, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's daughter, left fans overjoyed today.

Adorned in an elegant white and lilac floral dress, the young royal was seen arriving at Buckingham Palace bright and early before the commencement of His Majesty's annual birthday parade.

In a moment that's sure to be iconic, Louise shared a carriage with her mother, Sophie, who herself was a vision in yellow, as the pair made their way down the Mall towards Horse Guards Parade.

It didn't take long for royal enthusiasts to express their excitement over Lady Louise's participation, with floods of delighted comments pouring onto social media. One fan gushed: "So lovely that Louise is alongside her parents!"

Another commented: "I love Lady Louise look! glad to see Sophie raised her right with the florals!," while a third chimed: "Lady Louise is a beautiful young woman- she reminds me so much of Queen Mary."

Many eagle eyed fans were also quick to notice that the dress was worn by the elder sister of James, Earl of Wessex, was particularly familiar, as one said: "Lady Louise is wearing the same dress she wore for the Coronation and a blue hat :)," and one fan commented: Lady Louise, just so elegant! I love the beautiful dress from the coronation, her chic up do and the hat! Beautiful young lady, inside and out!"

Lady Louise is currently studying English at the University of St Andrews in Scotland and has followed in her late grandfather's footsteps with her love of carriage driving.

Despite her suitability and popularity among royal fans, a leading expert has pointed out why it is unlikely that Lady Louise - the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie and elder sister of James, Earl of Wessex -would become a working member of the Firm during the reigns of her uncle, the King, or her cousin, the Prince of Wales.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!: "It’s clear that for the next 15 years or so (depending on when Prince George decides to take up, full-time royal duties), the working Royals are going to become extremely thin on the ground.

"But I’m doubtful that lady Louise would ever become a full-time working royal, partly because I’m not sure she would want to, and also, because The King and William know only too well that the monarchy has to be increasingly accountable to the taxpayer.

The second Trooping the Colour parade of King Charles' reign is taking place in London today (Saturday, 15 June).

The seven regiments of the Household Division are taking part in a spectacular display as they march between Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall.

After a very difficult few months, the King is travelling to the parade ground by carriage as opposed to the traditional horseback - due to his cancer treatment.

The Princess of Wales has also made a very welcome return to the event, despite continuing to focus on cancer treatment. She has been seen in a carriage with her royal children – her first public appearance in nearly six months.
