King Charles 'plans USA visit' amid ongoing rift with Prince Harry

King Charles is said to be missing his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but may plan a visit in the future, according to a royal expert.

The King has only had a few encounters with his youngest son, Prince Harry's children. Despite having a close bond with Prince William's children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, Charles has only met Lili once and seen Archie a couple of times.

It's believed that Charles is frustrated by the distance and only gets to see Archie and Lilibet during occasional video calls from their parents' Montecito mansion. He reportedly desires a closer relationship with them.

On the other hand, Queen Camilla is thought to be encouraging efforts to strengthen their bond after Charles sent Lilibet a "heartfelt gift and card" for her third birthday earlier this month.

Harry is reportedly hesitant to bring his children to visit family in the UK due to his ongoing legal battle against the Home Office over the loss of his UK police protection. He told the court that his children can't "feel at home" in the UK if it's "not possible to keep them safe" there.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn revealed to The Mirror that King Charles might be planning a trip across the pond.

Tom shared: "Charles has had discussions about an official visit to the United States at some time in the future, and there is no doubt if it goes ahead he would build in time to visit his youngest son and his grandchildren, but there are mountains of planning to be overcome before that becomes even a remote possibility."

Tom added more insights, saying: "King Charles has privately visited many other countries he made an unpublicised visit to Transylvania for example to check up on his rental properties so it's certainly possible that he would make a discreet private visit to Harry and the children in California.

"He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lili will not remember him as the warm friendly grandfather he wants to be."

Elsewhere, Tom also mentioned that Prince Harry seems to be searching for a "secluded Georgian house" near his father's Highgrove estate. With increasing reports suggesting that Charles is keen to spend more time with his grandkids, rumours are swirling that the Duke of Sussex is considering a property purchase in the UK.

Tom has also hinted that Harry might be thinking of adding a new UK residence to his family's portfolio.

He revealed: "Harry has spent a lot of time trying to work out what sort of UK base he might have. He has no experience of living in anything other than well protected houses that are also well away from the public, so he has a huge problem. Every house he looks at has drawbacks."
