If you regularly dye your hair, it doesn’t take long to see the long-term impact it has on your locks - and not in a good way. Constant dying and bleaching can make it dry and brittle, and in extreme cases, even fall out.
And us average Joes aren’t the only one that this happens to, it turns out, as Keira Knightley has revealed that constant dye jobs once resulted in her hair falling out.
Because unlike us, Knightley’s hair regime is a big part of her job, and with each new role often comes a new head of hair.
She told InStyle:
“I have dyed my hair virtually every colour imaginable for different films.
“It got so bad that my hair literally began to fall out of my head! So for the past five years I’ve used wigs, which is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to my hair.”
To ruin her hair would be a particular waste at the moment, as she also revealed that since giving birth to her daughter Edie in 2015, her hair has never been healthier.
“I have naturally crazy, curly hair, and since I’ve had the baby it’s become 10 times thicker,” she said.
“So now I’ve been finding quite a lot of dreadlocks.”
To be honest, we’d rather wear a wig than have our hair fall out any day.
