Katy Perry to appear in Peppa Pig 20th anniversary special

Katy Perry has been cast in an upcoming Peppa Pig three-episode special.

Hasbro Entertainment announced in a release obtained by Billboard on Wednesday that the California Gurls singer will be joining the Peppa Pig cast in 2024, for its three-part Wedding Party Special celebrating the series' 20th anniversary.

Katy, who is known for her bold fashion choices, has been cast as dressmaker Ms. Leopard, who assists with the preparations for Peppa Pig's first wedding event - between Mr. Bull and Mrs. Crow.

President of Hasbro Entertainment Olivier Dumont said of the casting decision in a statement, "We're incredibly thrilled to have such an A-list talent join the family-fun adventures in Peppa Pig! As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms Leopard."

The Peppa Pig role will mark Katy's first since appearing as Smurfette in 2013's The Smurfs 2.

The singer, 38, welcomed daughter Daisy with Orlando Bloom in 2020. In a recent interview with Good Morning America, she shared, "I haven't put any new material out since my darling Daisy. I think that I'm writing a lot and have written a lot from a place of love because I'm feeling so much of it - so much unconditional love, that love you never knew existed."
