Kate Middleton has largely remained out of the public eye since her cancer diagnosis in March, while her father-in-law, King Charles, has been spotted on several occasions and recently resumed his official duties despite still receiving treatment. Now, insiders have shed light on the touching reason behind their contrasting approaches.

The mother-of-three courageously revealed her health struggle in a heartfelt video where she disclosed that post-operative tests had detected cancer. This announcement came a month after the Palace declared the King's own diagnosis, stating he "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".

Both Charles and Kate are currently undergoing treatment for the disease, although the specific types of cancers they are battling have not been confirmed.

A source spoke to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden about Kate's continued absence from public life, saying: "King Charles very much wanted to be seen by the public while he was undergoing his own cancer treatment but this has not been the case for his daughter-in-law, however disappointing that might be for her admirers."

"As Sovereign, His Majesty is in a very different position from the Princess of Wales. There is no need for her to be seen while she's recovering.", reports the Mirror.

During a two-day visit to southwest England earlier this month, Prince William took the time to reassure fans about Kate Middleton's health. While he toured St. Mary's Community Hospital on the Isles of Scilly, Trinity Smith, a hospital administrator, approached the prince and asked: "May I ask how Princess Kate is doing? "

William then shared that his wife is "doing well."

During the same visit, William couldn't resist cracking a joke when asked about his adorable little trio - George, Charlotte, and Louis. He quipped: "The children are very jealous that I am here... Maybe we might come later in the year."

In step with Mental Health Awareness Week, William and Kate united their social media forces for a heartfelt post. Via their Kensington Royal platform, they wrote: "This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we've brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film."

They continued: "Spending a day together on Sam's farm in Hereford they chatted about mental health in the farming community, finding support and the Duchy of Cornwall's Mental Health Strategy."

While Kate was not present physically for the video shoot, which is available for viewing on YouTube, she played a significant behind-the-scenes role in producing it alongside William. At the same time, over-70 Royal Charles has resumed his public duties near the end of last month. Despite suggestions he might adopt a more relaxed summer calendar, the reigning King powerfully debunked those claims by completing five tasks within 48 hours just a week ago.
