Kanye West‘s fashion label, Yeezy, has a bit of a reputation for creating a social media storm.
Different editions of Yeezy trainers sell out repeatedly after being buzzed about on Twitter; Kanye’s New York fashion shows always make headlines (for the right and wrong reasons); and his most recent ad campaign – featuring his wife Kim Kardashian and her clones wearing his clobber – was ingenious for its shareability.
The latest Kanye brainchild to capture the imagination of his followers is the Yeezy Slides, which the singer posted about enthusiastically on Twitter…

The slides – which Kanye pointed out are in a ‘rough draft’ (thank god) – appear to be made from a foamy material and feature deep ridged soles.
Kanye’s prototype are come in deep turquoise, though it’s likely he’ll drop other colour-ways when they finally come to market.
We can barely contain our excitement.
It’s not yet known how much the foamy creations will cost, but knowing Kanye you can expect them to fall in the region of, well, over-priced.

In good company with Balenciaga‘s Triple S trainers and Christopher Kane’s high fashion Crocs, Kanye’s Yeezy Slides’s fall nicely in line with fashion’s current ‘ugly shoe’ obsession.
However Twitter users seem to deemed the Yeezy Slides one step too far.
