Kallmeyer Fall 2025: A Languid Artistic Affair

Held at the Bortolami gallery downtown, Daniella Kallmeyer once again returned to the runway with a striking raw space with a piano just off center. It was the ideal backdrop for her languid collection that glided through the room. “I started with a feeling, very poetic, cinematic and glamorous,” she said of the collection, defining it as “sublime.” Shown on a variety of Kallmeyer clients, friends and muses of the brand — including Sarita Choudhury, who wore a sleek and sensual black belted coat — the designer is building a world firmly set in the now. “How do we make it real? How do we turn a poem into an anthem?” she said backstage of the might she imbues into her clothing. “Who are the warriors wearing this?”

Each look felt fluid but intentional — a dusty light yellow satin pleated pant paired with a mustard yellow cowl-neck blouse with long sleeves, striking in the color combo and its chic dissonance. Textures injected fresh ideas — leather on coats, a square-shouldered suit nipped at the waist with exposed zipper paired with a matching skirt to below the knee, delicate plays on proportion that brought strength to the lineup. One of her finale dresses used a red fabric with a super light black overlay sewn together on a robe-style shaped dress; it glistened as it flew by. Other looks played on ideas of being more buttoned-up with ease, styling in ties, touches of mohair sweaters and blazers — wear it with a stovepipe wide jean and a laser-cut mackintosh coat. Her pants, a favorite at retail, are here, looser and paired with sheer sweaters, perfectly gauzy sheer tops and double-breasted vests.

Accessories took a cue from her pre-season offering, with beads on a hat and fringe necklaces, artisanal, handmade-looking and special. The glamour was pumped up with ethically sourced diamonds from Flametta in studs, rings and tennis necklaces. “We haven’t accessorized with real jewelry much, but when I was thinking about it, you know, diamonds are something that are heirloom.

“This woman, she’s wearing something that’s really meaningful,” she mused.
