Nicole Kidman channeled 90s-era Julia Roberts and you don't need a red carpet dress to recreate the look
Nicole Kidman proved you don't need a glamorous gown to look stunning on the red carpet.
The star gave us all the fashion inspiration we need as she attended the Critics Choice Awards in a neatly tailored suit by Saint Laurent.
In fact, her outfit reminded us of Julia Roberts' iconic 1990s Golden Globes look that we love so much - an oversized Armani suit that the actress famously got from the menswear department.
Nicole, who was nominated for best actress in a drama series for Paramount+'s Lioness, wore a sophisticated cream jacket with shoulder pads and a pair matching high waisted wide-leg trousers.
She styled her suit with a staple striped shirt - but the one detail that really completed her look, in our opinion, is her polka dot tie.
While ultra-feminine bows were everywhere last year, we think a masculine tie will add an instant touch of cool and masculinity to an outfit and look amazing. Just remember how good Diane Keaton's looked in 1970s classic Annie Hall.
And we're not the only ones who think tie will quickly become a must-have accessory ... according to secondhand online marketplace Depop, as reported by the Guardian, searches for bows decreased 25% since January, while searches for ties increased 32%.
You can also take inspiration from Nicole and accessorise your outfit with pieces of statement jewellery for a touch of glamour.
Feeling inspired? We found lot of different styles from our favourite high-street retailers including John Lewis and M&S and more expensive designs from the likes of Paul Smith.
