Josie Gibson soaks up the sun in bikini after setting record straight on Stephen Mulhern ‘romance’
Josie Gibson has been soaking up the sun on a girls’ trip to Ireland after addressing rumours of an alleged romance between her and Stephen Mulhern.
With the sun shining, the This Morning host has headed to Westport in County Mayo, Ireland with a selection of her pals and the group have been enjoying everything from sipping on pints of Guinness to mountain climbing and horse riding on the beach.
Among the activities, 39 year old Josie braved the cold Irish Sea and took a dip in the crystal clear water as she posed for a picture for her 729,000 Instagram followers to see.
In the snap, the TV presenter dazzled in an emerald green bikini which she paired with some oversized sunglasses as she took a dip in the sea.
Josie also gave fans a further peek inside her trip with pals and posted a series of other clips and photos on her Instagram Story, including some of her hiking up the Croagh Patrick in County Mayo.
The trip comes after Josie faced speculation that she was dating ITV star Stephen after the pair were pictured holding hands as they walked together outside ITV's London television studio on Saturday, 13 April.
However, last month Josie spoke to OK! about the speculation that surrounded her friendship with Catchphrase presenter Stephen, with the mum-of-one explaining that there was “no romance in the air” for the duo.
“Stephen? Oh, he’s so lovely. We are really good friends, I really adore him, but there’s no romance in the air,” she said in an exclusive interview.
“But he’s so nice. Every bloke that I come in contact with, the press seems to think that I’m having it off with them. People must think I’m a right goer. I’m not like that.”
Josie then went on to explain that it would take more than just holding hands for her to form an intimate connection.
“I can’t give my energy over when I’m not completely into it. You know when you get that magic connection?,” she added.
“For me it only comes around like once every seven years or eight years. I love the love because those are very, very special [moments] when you find them.”
Meanwhile 47 year old Stephen addressed the picture of him and Josie holding hands while speaking on This Morning on Tuesday, 7 May as he spoke to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
When asked about the snap, Stephen stated: “Listen, she didn't show up to rehearsals, I held her hand and I showed her where to stand. That is it!”
