Madonna splits from boyfriend, 28, over 'same old issue'
Madonna has quietly split from her partner Akeem Morris, according to reports. Superstar Madonna, 66, and Akeem, 28, were previously said to have been enjoying a 'fiery romance'. They had been romantically linked since around July and were thought to have been loved-up over the summer.
It's now however been alledged that the pair quietly separated in October. It's claimed that the relationship had "run it's course" and that there are "no hard feelings" between the singer-songwriter and former football player Akeem. Discussing the apparent break-up, a source told the Daily Mail: "Madonna ran into the same issue with this boytoy as she has with all of her recent men. The age difference became an issue. They come from different time periods."
The source continued to add: "When the globe-trotting stopped, the excitement stopped as well. Ultimately it had run it’s course and there are no hard feelings or drama. It was just time for them to go their separate ways. Akeem is now living on an island, and Madonna is obviously in her UES pad working on her biopic." Akeem was first linked to Madonna in 2022 when he made an appearance on her cover of Paper magazine. But the pair didn't appear together until this past summer. According to Elle Magazine, Akeem is from Spanish Town in Jamaica and played college soccer at Stony Brook University before going on to play premiere league level for Oyster Bay United FC.
Madonna and Akeem kept fans up-to-date on their life together and in August of this year, Madonna shared a stunning photoshoot with Akeem while in Italy. They were joined by members of her family and other friends as they Madonna 66. Sharing her experience with her fans on Instagram, Madonna uploaded a carousel of images to her grid and captioned the post: "Back in Italy………… Happy Birthday to ME." She was seen dressed in Dolce and Gabbana for a photoshoot.
Just last month however, Madonna suffered a family tragedy after her younger brother, Christopher Ciccone passed away. One close friend paid tribute and said: "He was an extremely talented man with a wicked sense of humor". Christopher's tragic passing comes days after the death of his and Madonna's stepmother, Joan, who died on Tuesday 24 September after a short but 'aggressive' battle with cancer. Madonna's older brother also passed away last year.
In late October, Madonna visited the grave of her brother and shared a deeply personal tribute after his passing. Alongside the sombre images, Madonna uploaded a photo of the green marble headstone, etched with her brother’s name and dates, with the heartbreaking caption: "Homecoming.............".
The 'Queen of Pop' also shared a moment where red roses were laid on the grave while Levon Henry serenaded them with Duke Ellington's "Single Petal of a Rose" on the saxophone.
