Jon Richardson appears to have thrown himself into work following his split from wife Lucy Beaumont. The comedian is among the famous faces rumoured to be appearing in a new BBC series, with filming having already wrapped.

Jon, 41, is said to be taking part in the celebrity edition of Interior Design Masters, which will land on BBC later this year. Reports claim he will join the likes of Martin and Shirlie Kemp, Leomie Anderson, Darren Harriott and Joanne McNally on the series, hosted by Alan Carr.

"The show's been a huge success for the BBC, the bosses absolutely love Alan and now they're putting an exciting celeb twist on the format," a TV insider told The Sun.

"They've been able to sign up some incredible stars, who they think will bring lots of fun whilst still maintaining their competitiveness. Martin and Shirlie are especially big sign-ups, of course, and everyone's hoping viewers will love their marital dynamic. Production on the new series has just wrapped, with an air date set for sometime later this year," they added.

OK! has contacted the BBC for comment.

It marks the first celebrity series of Interior Design Masters, which launched back in 2019. The show sees host Alan Carr and head judge Michelle Ogundehin search for emerging talent in the interior design world.

The civilian edition sees ten amateur interior designers battle it out for the chance to impress Michelle and win a contract with a top hotel in the Lake District. Each week, contestants are set a different commercial design challenge, which is then critiqued by Michelle and guest judges.

Jon's rumoured appearance on Celebrity Interior Design Masters comes after he and wife Lucy Beaumont announced they'd ended their nine-year marriage. The former couple, who wed in 2015, are parents to daughter Elsie, seven.

On Friday, 12 April, Jon and Lucy released a statement confirming their separation, which read: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways."

"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment," Jon and Lucy, who starred in Meet The Richardsons together, wrote.
