John Mayer reveals duet with Katy Perry was 'so much fun'

John Mayer has revealed that his duet with his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry, Who You Love, was "so much fun".

During an interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the 45-year-old singer shared that he still likes the 2013 hit with Katy, despite their breakup.

John revealed that his least favourite album that he has released is 2013's Paradise Valley, however, he does like some of the songs on the album.

"It's only the least favorite because other ones were just more important to my life," he stated. "I like some of the songs on this album."

John noted that one of the songs he likes is Who You Love, which he and Katy duetted during their short-lived romance.

"Isn't that great? I'm glad we did that," John said of the duet. "I listen to that every once in a while and I go, 'I like that song.' I like the way that she sounds on the song."

He added, "She got that way of singing down and met the challenge of that song. It was so much fun."

The musician added that he has a further appreciation for the song as it feels like a "prototype" of one of his favourite albums, Sob Rock, which he released in 2021.

"It was just at the point where I was saying, 'Why can't I make music from a different era?'" the performer explained. "If I love a style of music and I want to make it, like a genre, why can't I make music that I was pretending was from a different era?"

The pair, who first met at a Jay-Z concert in New York, dated on and off from 2012 until they split for good in 2015.
