Jay Blades' sister-in-law speaks out after The Repair Shop star's split - 'Keeping secrets became too much'
Amidst the recent announcement of The Repair Shop star Jay Blades' separation from his wife, Lisa Marie Zbozen, his sister-in-law Teresa took to social media to share a cryptic message. Teresa wrote on Instagram today: “Processing and trying to comprehend how or why someone you love could find themselves in this situation has been difficult.
“Keeping the secret, using code words on messages and calls to be sure it's safe to ring, until it all became too much has left me a range of emotions.
“Right now I am nothing but grateful, relieved and hopeful for my sister's future outside of her marriage. There are so many why's? So many questions to which I am sure we will not get the answers."
She then added: “For those who can't understand why @lisamariezbozen has spoken out and taken action, I ask what would you do?”
Lisa recently confirmed her 18-month marriage was over in an emotional Instagram post. The fitness star, who married the TV presenter in an intimate ceremony in Barbados in 2022, posted a statement online saying: "I don't know how to say this because it's still really raw."
Alongside the black and white photo from their wedding day, Lisa - who admitted she has never "cried so much" - revealed that "things just got worse and worse, until I grabbed a bag of a few things and I left."
After receiving an outpouring of support from her followers, Lisa took to Instagram once again, this time in a tearful video story recorded outdoors, where she chose not to reveal her face.
The 43 year old struggled to hold back her emotions as she addressed her audience, saying: “OK I am going to try this for the fortieth time without crying. So, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has sent a message and been so nice."
As she fought back tears, she poured out her feelings: "I don't really, I still don't really believe that this is actually real because if you knew how much I loved my husband and how much I have tried to make this work over and over again. I just wanted it so much and I couldn't be enough. I couldn't seem to get it right ever."
Lisa then directly addressed her followers, thanking them for all their kind messages and for sending her things to read during this difficult time. She noted how "helpful" this has been, sharing that her mind has been wandering into past memories "as opposed to facts."
She then empathised with some of her followers, saying she knows "there are a lot of you out there who resonate with what [she] is going through right now."
"I wonder when you get to the point where you won't feel so bad about yourself," Lisa reflected, as she continued: "When you don't feel like, you just don't understand why you just weren't enough? Why everything you did just didn't seem to be enough?"
