Jamie Laing compares himself to Doc from Back To The Future as he rides his bike through London running late for a wedding
Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing took to Instagram on Saturday 15 June to make fun of his appearance as he peddled across London on a bicycle, en route to a wedding.
The presenter and investor – who wasn’t wearing a helmet in the video – was dressed in a suit jacket, shirt, bow tie and sunglasses, but the most eye-catching thing about his appearance was his blond hair that was sticking up due to the breeze.
Jamie captioned the story with the words: “Late for a wedding!! And I look like Doc from Back to the Future,” referring to Christopher Lloyd’s iconic inventor character from the classic Michael J Fox sci fi movie. He also commented: “My hair! I look like the Weetos bloke,” comparing himself to the cartoon character with bushy hair that features on the Weetabix chocolate cereal boxes.
Jamie was recently brought to tears about his own wedding anniversary, as wife Sophie Habboo announced she had officially changed her name to Sophie Laing. The couple married at the Chelsea registry office in April 2023, and followed their wedding with another ceremony the following month in front of 200 guests in Marbella, Spain.
During their Newlyweds podcast, Sophie shared the news through a touching poem, which began: "It's been one wonderful year since I became your wife, saying I do to you was the best decision of my life."
As she came to the end of her heartfelt speech, Sophie's eyes welled up as she made a big announcement: "So happy anniversary from me, Mrs. Sophie Laing. Yes that's right Laing. I have officially changed my name."
On hearing this, Jamie couldn't hold it back anymore and let out a flood of tears before leaping up to lovingly plant a kiss on Sophie.
His response to her news was: "You haven't? No you haven't? Have you actually? What! are you joking or being serious? I was not expecting that! I need to give you a hug, that means the world. Honey, that is a lot, have you actually changed your name."
Jamie opened up on Good Morning Britain with hosts Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis about being utterly gobsmacked by his wife's unexpected revelation. He shared: "It was very sweet and emotional she surprised me that she had changed her name during our podcast and I had tears in my eyes. I was emotional it really caught me by surprise."
