Last year, Jack in the Box removed a long-time menu item, and fans have not been happy since. How unhappy are they? There was talk of a rebellion on Reddit.

"I'm ready to rise up and start a rebellion on jack in the box," one fan commented. They haven't visited the fast-food restaurant since their beloved sandwich disappeared. "I'm so sad. I really hope they bring it back bc it was literally my whole reason for going to jack," said another Redditor.

Those despondent former customers will be happy to learn that Jack in the Box is bringing back the Chick N Tater Melt a little over a year after discontinuing it. The chain acknowledged that "fans have been begging for it on social media." Jack in the Box is teaming up with rapper and actor Ice Cube to create a meal deal with the Chick N Tater Melt. Ice Cube recorded a song titled "Jack in the Box" on his 2008 album "Raw Footage."

Jack in the Box’s Ice Cube Munchie Meal

From June 3 until July 14, the Ice Cube Munchie Meal will be available all day at Jack locations nationwide, and the meal includes a lot of food, starting at just $12. Here's what you'll get in the meal that looks shareable to us:

  • One Chick N Tater Melt: a croissant sandwich with a fried chicken patty, bacon, shredded Cheddar cheese, Swiss-style cheese, white cheese sauce, ranch, and a hash brown

  • Three Sides: One taco, seasoned curly fries, and mini churros

  • One Small Drink: Sprite (but we suspect you can substitute a different regular soda)

That's one side more than Jack in the Box's Build Your Own Munchie Meal, which starts at $12 and lets you choose from four different sandwich options, pick two sides, and choose your beverage.

If you're lucky enough to live in one of the 22 states where Jack in the Box has locations, hurry up and get your Chick N Tater melt and the rest of the deal. It sounds pretty good to us. And while you're there, we won't judge if you can't resist the chain's new Oreo milkshake, too.
