The Chase's Mark Labbett and his ex Hayley Palmer have stopped following each other on Instagram, adding fuel to the fire after their surprising split. The pair had just celebrated their one-year anniversary with a lavish holiday before announcing their separation to their followers.
Despite initially seeming to part ways amicably, they've now cut ties on social media. This comes after Mark shared about his positive summer post-split, stating: "Feels good to be The Beast,” while flaunting his recent weight loss and avoiding any mention of Hayley or their breakup.
Fans would have instantly recognised the table as the one where Mark and Hayley often dined. With a big grin on his face, the quiz master seemed to be showing his ex what she was missing.
In late May, Hayley confirmed their split via her Instagram Stories, posting: "It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future."
She concluded her message with: "Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift."
An insider revealed about the split: "Mark had a lovely time with Hayley and has a lot of respect for her but they wanted different things. She loves getting dressed up and going out to parties and showbiz events, whereas he prefers to stay at home. Mark felt there was too much of an age gap between them for long-term success. They are still friendly. Away from his job on telly and filming, Mark enjoys a quiet life and spending time with his son. He is still hopeful he can meet someone to settle down with one day."
Just two days before they announced their split, Mark and Hayley celebrated their first anniversary with a nostalgic trip to the beach where it all began. Mark gushed on social media with a snap of the pair: "One year anniversary. Same beach, same bench." Hayley echoed his sentiment, sharing the same caption on her own heartfelt post.
The duo were never shy about their romance, with Hayley even discussing their age difference on Good Morning Britain , candidly stating: "I feel like we're pretty much the same [...] We just get on really well."
Their paths first crossed at the 2022 National Television Awards, where Mark's receipt of a Toby Carvery Gold Card seemed to charm Hayley right off her feet.
