J. Kim's Debut Fashion Show Tributes the Travelling Circus

J. Kim just presented its debut runway show in Uzbekistan, drawing inspiration from "the art of the travelling circus," specifically, a tightrope walker from The Wandering Circus. Taking place at Abul Kasim Madrasa, a local landmark and educational institution for men, the showcase explored themes of balance, tradition and the concept of home.

A tribute to the strength and endurance of a tightrope walker, the presentation aims to reflect the same delicate balance of life, encouraging us to embrace fragility and challenge our fears. The showcase itself offers a unisex collection, created in collaboration with Ukrainian artist Anton Belinsky. Paying homage to the traditional attires of both brands and their archives, the collection features lightweight fabrics, bright colors and layering, with garments featuring prints of circus imagery and flag detailing.

With a special focus on the "Lazzat" silhouette, which nods to the casual appearance of women in Uzbekistan, alongside "bekasam," a multicolored semi-silk fabric. Alongside delicate chiffons and veils, the collection included oversized shirts and men's bomber jackets.
