ITV This Morning viewers complain minutes into episode as they fume 'this is hard work'

This Morning viewers complained minutes into Thursday's (March 6) episode as they fumed "this is hard work".

Hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard fronted today's edition of the ITV daytime programme, which featured interviews with the cast of Bergerac and Toxic Town.

At the top of the show, Jodie Whittaker was joined by two of the real-life mothers involved in the Corby toxic waste case, which has been adapted into a Netflix series.

The four-part drama, which also stars Aimee Lou Wood and Claudia Jessie, has received wide acclaim since its release on the streamer, with many critics praising the cast for their "standout performances".

After a heartfelt chat with the cast of Toxic Town, Cat and Ben were joined on the blue sofa by Damien Molony and Zoe Wanamaker, who spilled the beans on the anticipated Bergerac reboot - which premiered last week.

Damien has replaced John Nettles as lead character Jim Bergerac, playing a darker and more troubled character than the original. Meanwhile, Zoe plays Bergerac's mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford.

Despite the stacked roster of guests, fans were not impressed with the interviews on today's This Morning, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration.

"Gawd these interviews are hard work today," one person wrote, with another adding: "I can't the last time they had an interview on this show that stopped me from falling asleep."

"It's like pulling teeth today," a third fan said, with another similarly sharing: "Honestly going by today's interviews (Damien aside), it's just as well these actors are given scripts to do their job."

A fifth viewer echoed the sentiment: "Is this the pause for thought sofa during an interview?!"

Elsewhere on today's show, Dr Scott Miller presented all the action live from Crufts, while Jamie Oliver was offering cooking advice in the kitchen and during the phone-in.

Cat and Ben also spoke to Steve Wilson, who came dressed as Willy Wonka in an effort to share the best sweet treats that viewers can get their hands on before Easter.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
