Duchess of Cambridge continues her love affair with skirt suits at children’s hospital event

The Duchess of Cambridge is back at work after a jam-packed evening at Buckingham Palace.

Last night’s sparkle-infused look was replaced with more work-appropriate attire as Kate visited a children’s hospital this morning.

The Duchess chose a blue tweed skirt suit by Rebecca Taylor for the occasion which featured fashion-forward fringing and subtle metallic thread.

On her feet were sophisticated suede navy courts. Her hair was pulled back into a loose half chignon with dangling sapphire earrings (that matched her ring) adding a nice glittering touch.

Kate is launching the official opening of the Ronald McDonald Evelina House London; ‘home away from home’ accommodation for the families of children who are being treated at the nearby Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The Duchess was greeted with a bouquet of flowers on her arrival and has been speaking to residents of the House. She also chatted to children as they made pancakes for today’s Shrove Tuesday celebrations.

Later on, she will attend a short reception and unveil a plaque to officially open the House.

While Kate’s skirt is unfortunately nowhere to be found, her ruffled jacket is on sale for $199.

Skirt suits appear to be Kate’s favoured workwear style this year. She has already donned two different styles: a green tweed ensemble from Hobbs and a bold red look by Italian designer Luisa Spagnoli.
