Inside Scarlett Moffatt's 'solo parenting' holiday to Portugal with baby Jude

Scarlett Moffatt has given fans a look inside her trip to Portugal with 10 month old son Jude, as she holidayed without her fiance, Scott Dobinson.

The former Gogglebox star, 33, jetted off to the Algarve to spend some quality time with her only child, who she gave birth to in June 2023. Scarlett shared a look inside the holiday with her 2.4million Instagram followers, revealing that Scott couldn't make it due to work commitments.

Posting a series of snaps from their mother-son getaway, she said: "So I took Jude on holiday on my own! Just me and my little travel buddy Jude. Scott couldn’t come due to work & I thought, 'No, come on Scarlett, you’ve got this.

"First of all, I want to say I have a new found respect for anyone who is a parent doing it on their own or who don’t have that extra pair of hands to help out. Everything takes that extra bit of planning without that security of an extra person.

She added: "That being said, I had an amazing time & anybody thinking of doing a solo trip with a baby or child, do it, I promise you the thought of it is a lot scarier than actually doing it. We had so much fun & although Jude won’t remember this trip to Portugal, I’ll cherish it wholeheartedly for the rest of my life."

Scarlett showed how she kept the little one entertained during the three hour flight, by sticking a toy to the window of the plane. Once they landed, the pair headed straight to the pool, where Jude read his book in the shade of his pram.

In another adorable snap, the tot kept cool as he splashed around in a splash pad at the lavish resort.

The I'm A Celebrity winner and her fiancé Scott, who surprised her with a gorgeous proposal in November last year, had been trying for a baby "for a long time" before she fell pregnant. Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast last year, Scarlett said she had visited a fertility doctor to check that "everything was OK".

“That was for November, and on my birthday in October I remember blowing my birthday candles out and wishing that it would happen, like, ‘I really wish that I could have a baby’," she shared. "Then two weeks later I found out that I was pregnant. It was a nice feeling emailing the fertility doctor, cancelling the appointment."

The former Queen of the Jungle previously told OK! that becoming a mam has altered her perspective on life.

“I have a completely different mindset these days - it was like a switch flicked in my head when I became a mam,” she said, in her first interview since little Jude was born.

“I used to put so much pressure on myself and worry about other people’s opinions. Now? I don’t care. I feel I know myself a lot more. “And I’ve given birth to a little human being - that’s amazing.”

Jude Xavier arrived by C section with Scarlett, who won I'm a Celebrity in 2016, describing the birth as "very calm".

"We had the radio on and Jude was born to the song Man, I Feel Like a Woman which is so ironic as all his Godparents are drag queens. We couldn’t have planned it better!”
