The crowd had the opportunity to mingle around an aromatic flower garden and listen to live performances by music artists Ella Eyre and John Glacier.

The venue was decorated with art, including pieces made of the brand’s perfume bottles; a commissioned art piece by Ghanaian artist Nana Yaw Oduro, and art works by contemporary African artists Isabelle D, Evans Mbugua, Deborah Segun, and Willys Kezi Niangi, whose creative inspirations came from the label’s signature aromas.

Incorporating art in the evening was important for the duo behind the brand, Sue Y. Nabi, chief executive officer of Coty Inc., and Nicolas Vu.

“Art gives soul to luxury,” said Vu, who also is the designer behind the brand’s stackable perfume bottles — they are meant to be collected and assembled in a way that each owner can create their own artwork, or as previously described by him as “artcycling.”

The perfumery was founded in Paris in 1904 and celebrates its 120th anniversary this year.

The exclusive collection at Liberty’s will include 14 fragrances co-created by Nabi and Vu — they are infused with fine ingredients and made with innovative technologies enabling the wearer to preserve their scent for up to 30 hours.
