I'm Replacing My Drab Winter Coat With This Stylish Vest That Keeps Me Just as Warm
It’s the first thing I’m packing for my trip to Switzerland.

Despite the fact that I grew up in the Chicago suburbs where winter temperatures would regularly dip into the sub-zero territory, I’ve gone soft. I’m always cold, even in the mild winter we have here in New York City—which is nothing compared to my midwestern upbringing.
I have a robust wardrobe of outerwear to keep me warm year-round, including coats, jackets, and more. However, there’s one style from a celeb-worn brand that I’ve been reaching for on the regular and will be wearing on repeat during my trip to Switzerland next week: Alo’s Incline Puffer Vest.

The plush layer, which comes in grey, white, and the black shade that I own, surprised me with its warmth. While I wouldn’t typically wear a vest once the temperature drops below 40 degrees, Alo’s version is so warm that I’ve been sporting it even as we’ve shifted into winter. The style is a perfect oversized fit with a cool-girl boxy silhouette that elevates every outfit. It’s versatile enough to pair with just about anything, too: athleisure, jeans, and trousers.
The material is thick but still lightweight and keeps me toastier than some of my actual coats. And the beauty of a vest is that I can style it to fit the weather. On warmer days, I toss on a lightweight tee underneath and wear a thicker fleece when the weather feels a little closer to my days in the Midwest. The design is also made from a nylon and elastane combo, which is durable and long-lasting.
Shoppers agree: the vest is a hit. One customer called the boxy shape “flattering,” adding that “it’s giving high end” and can be paired with other styles for a “chic workout look.” Another customer said the vest is “so warm and cozy” they “wear it almost every day,” while more added that it’s a “no-brainer” and “timeless piece they’ll “wear for years.”
