I'm A Celeb star reveals 'scars' from Bushtucker Trials leaving Alison Hammond gasping
Oti Mabuse joined This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the sofa on Friday morning for her first interview since leaving the jungle. The professional dancer couldn’t help but gush over how much she enjoyed her time in the jungle, although she she left Alison shocked with one revelation.
The mother of one lived the full jungle experience, making it all the way to the Celebrity Cyclone after winning immunity, and she has the scars to prove it. During her appearance on the show, Oti revealed what it was like to undertake a trial, as she explained: “Usually, we all learnt to close your eyes and it doesn’t exist but [in this task] you have to look at the star and the ants and scorpions and crickets all want to come inside your mouth.”
Dermot then asked if she got bitten at all, to which Oti replied: “Look at my legs, look at my legs!” before revealing her scars. In shock, Alison, who took part in the series in 2010 questioned: “Is that from all the ants?!”

As Oti confirmed it was, Alison let out a gasp as she exclaimed: “It’s actually scarred you!” However, the former Strictly Come Dancing star didn’t seem phased as she revealed she’d just ‘deal with it as normal’ until they heal.
Elsewhere in the chat, Oti spoke about her close relationship with fellow campmate Melvin Odoom as well as discussing how many campmates turned to her for emotional support. During the series, fans saw the star have many emotional chats, in particular, a chat with Reverend Richard Coles about the premature birth of her baby girl.
“It wasn’t something I went in [to the jungle] thinking it would happen but when your friend doesn’t look like themselves anymore and they have tears in their eyes, you can either ignore them or just be like, ‘Let’s just go away,’ and we have that conversation or, ‘If you need me to stay here, that's what I'll do,’” she told Alison and Dermott.
Oti continued, “I was extra protective over Melvin, because I know him, and I know how sensitive he is. He's really strong but when you get him down - it takes a lot to get him down…I just wanted to be there for him every step of the way, because he was there for me.”
Melvin was the fourth campmate to be evicted from the jungle, as viewers saw Oti shed a tear in emotional scenes after his exit. Oti went on to become the ninth campmate to be voted off the show.
