I'm A Celeb fans left sobbing over Oti Mabuse's tearful heart-to-heart with Richard Coles
I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! fans were left sobbing at Oti Mabuse and Reverend Richard Coles' emotional chat. The former Strictly Come Dancing pro opened up about her daughter's premature birth story. Oti's baby was placed in an incubator after birth, and as she . couldn’t hold her, the star used her voice to connect with her baby. She explained: “They find comfort in your voice.” Adding: “For two months, every single day we’d sing church music.”
Richard, who knew Oti before heading into the camp after competing in the BBC dance show in 2017, then shared his own story, as he recalled: “I remember going once to baptise a little boy, a premature boy, he was born very premature, he was only just alive…”
However, the Reverend had to stop what he was saying as he was overcome with emotion. As he fought back tears, Oti went over to give him a hug.

Continuing, Richard said: “I just remember he was this tiny little pulse of life, and David [his then partner] got a pipette of water and we blessed it, and we baptised him and he survived and now he’s a healthy young footballer, which is great! But I just felt so… it was such a precious thing.”
Oti, who gave birth to her one year old daughter in November 2023 with professional dancer husband Marius lepure, held back the tears while speaking on her own experiences. "They are, my daughter was really, really tiny when she was born. It’s hell. It’s hell to be in the hospital, to hear those sounds, to not see your baby’s eyes for a week, it’s hell to constantly look for advice from the doctors.”
The pro dancer then shared what the worst thing for her, which was that “every night, you need to leave them, you need to leave your baby in someone else’s hands.” Oti then told Richard that she couldn't wait for him to meet her child, as she said: "Maybe you can say a prayer over her, I would really love that.” In an adorable moment, Richard said he already had, as fans were left in tears.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Oti and Rev Richard pulling heartstrings tonight, such a nice conversation straight from the heart #ImACeleb," while a second agreed: "Oti and Rev Rich are actually going to make me sob #ImACeleb."
"IM CRYING OVER OTI AND RICHARD I CANNOT #ImACeleb," exclaimed a third.
Later on in the emotional chat, Richard was heard opening about the loss of his former partner, David who died days before Christmas in 2019 at the age of 43 from liver disease caused by an alcohol addiction. “I miss him… He’s just left a massive hole in my life and I’m living my life around that loss," Richard confessed.
