I'm A Celeb fans gobsmacked as Maura Higgins 'boards plane' with Stacey Solomon - but it's not to Oz
Maura Higgins fans thought she was finally on her way to Australia to join this year's I'm a Celebrity line-up tonight (Thursday, November 14). Rumours have been mounting that the former Love Island star, 33, could be heading Down Under to take on bushtucker trails with witchetty grubs, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
While the first group of jungle celebs was announced earlier this week by ITV, with the likes of Coleen Rooney and McFly's Danny Jones now already in Australia, Maura's name hasn't been officially released. Tonight, after Maura got tongues wagging by sharing a photograph of a plane, fans thought she was finally on her way. However, a short time later, Stacey Solomon posted a photo of herself with a group - which includes This Morning skincare expert Caroline Hirons - on a plane to Las Vegas, and fans were quick to express their shock that Maura appeared to be with them.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, 14 November, Maura shared a black and white snap with her 3.8M followers from the airport of a British Airways plane. She simply captioned it with a question box: "Where to!?".

As Stacey posted a picture of the gang - heading on the Space NK brand trip to see Adele perform live - on Instagram, Maura's fans were quick to express their disappointment, as they feared the 'sighting' meant she wouldn't be heading to the jungle. "This confirms Maura won’t be the extra in the jungle," wrote one, along with a crying face emoji. Another penned: "I guess @maurahiggins isn’t going to the jungle then," alongside heartbreak emojis.
The cryptic post comes just a day after the reality TV star was spotted stocking up on her essentials as she left her manager's office with a handful of vapes, looking radiant and relaxed in a grey trench coat and baseball cap. Before this, Maura was seen on a shopping spree in London with two full bags, including one from beauty brand Space NK, who are running the brand trip to Vegas.
Maura later enjoyed a lavish lunch at, Claridge's with two of her celebrity pals, fellow Lover Islander Olivia Attwood and TOWIE’s Chloe Lewis. Olivia took part in I’m A Celeb two years ago but she was forced to withdraw due to medical reasons shortly after arriving.
Before jetting off, the 33 year old also caught up with Pete Wicks in the week, who she is thought to have sparked up a romance with. The TOWIE star is currently taking part in the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing as he gears to perform in the all important Blackpool show this Saturday.
