The winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has been announced as Danny Jones has been crowned King of the jungle. Coleen Rooney, 38, came in second place in the series finale on Sunday night, but gushed that Danny "deserved" the win.

Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec immediately after his victory was announced, Danny, 38, said: "I can't even talk, this is surreal! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I gave my all, I gave myself and it's a lovely feeling to be liked. Thank you so much, I appreciate it so much. I've learned so much about myself and that's because of the campmates in there. I've had some of the hardest times I've ever had but the highs are some of the highest."

Danny, who was drafted into the ITV show as a replacement for Tommy Fury when he dropped out before the series started filming, is the second member of McFly to win the series following on from bandmate Dougie Poynter in 2011.

Danny, who won The Masked Singer earlier in the year, was crowned King of the jungle by 2023 I’m A Celebrity winner, Sam Thompson. Sam has been in Australia hosting I'm A Celebrity Unpacked.

Before becoming the new King of the Jungle, Danny admitted that it had been "way harder" than he had ever expected. He said: "It was way harder. I hope it comes across on TV but it's real in there. You're hungry, tired, lethargic. When the calories are so low, it's doubly as hard. You're kind of excited to do a trial because you're bored but then you think 'Oh why am I here?!'"

Despite not winning, runner-up Coleen was thrilled for her campmate as she admitted she hadn't expected to get so far in the first place. She said: "I didn't think I would get this far, so I'm really happy and Danny really deserves it."

Danny, Coleen and author and broadcaster Rev Richard Coles were revealed as this year’s finalists during Saturday night’s show. Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse left the jungle after hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced she had become the ninth celebrity to be voted off the show. Reflecting on this in Sunday’s episode, Richard said: “I can’t believe I’m one of the final three. I never thought I would make it this far.”

Danny said: “It feels amazing, I didn’t expect this at all.” And Coleen reflected in the Bush Telegraph and said: “Knowing that I have made it to the final makes me proud. I’m a proud mum, I’m a proud wife, I’m a proud daughter. It’s very rare that I’m proud of myself, so it means a lot. It’s very rare that I put myself first, so yeah these are happy tears.”

Rev Richard Coles, who was part of pop duo The Communards, was the first to be voted off during the final, coming in third place.

In his exit interview, Rev Richard Coles said the best thing about his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! experience was his campmates. “It was much harder than I thought it would be, but that was great,” he said.

“The lows were much lower, the highs are much higher, but it was the lows that made the highs.” He added: “The best thing was everybody else, we had such a good time.”

In the final episode, the campmates were rewarded with their favourite meals after completing their last Bushtucker trial during Sunday’s final.

The celebrities embarked on their last Bushtucker trial, The Towers Of Terror, which involved them lying on their backs in different levels of a tower where they were tasked with guiding stars down to the very bottom of the contraption.

After successfully completing the first part of the trial, they headed to the second larger tower where they won the remaining stars, meaning they were able to receive a reward of a three-course meal and drink.

Danny, 38, had a cold glass of beer, a starter of mozzarella sticks with sweet chilli sauce, a buttermilk chicken burger and chips for his main course, and fresh cream profiteroles with warm Nutella sauce for dessert.

Coleen, 38, had a glass of French pale Provence rose, a bruschetta starter, spaghetti bolognese with flaky parmesan cheese and garlic bread for her main course and fresh cream profiteroles with warm Nutella sauce for dessert. And Richard, 62, had a prawn cocktail starter, cottage pie and gravy for his main course, fruit cake for dessert, and Chablis Grand Cru for his drink.
