'I'd forgotten everything' Emily Andre's honest update on life with new baby
Emily Andre has issued an honest baby update admitting she feels like she's 'forgotten everything' about breast feeding after welcoming her third baby with husband Peter Andre.
The couple became proud parents again after welcoming their newest child into the world on Tuesday 2 April – a beautiful baby girl weighing 7lb 3oz, named Arabella Rose Andréa.
Now, in a post marking International Day of the Midwife, Emily thanked her team of medical staff for looking after her so well and helping her to relearn how to properly feed her newborn.
Posing a sweet picture of her breastfeeding Arabella shortly after giving birth, Emily told fans: "I wanted to mark International Day of the Midwife by taking the opportunity to give a huge thanks to the amazing team of midwives who have looked after me so well during my pregnancies, births, and postnatally."
She added: "Today is a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the wonderful work done by midwives across the country. The picture is just after Arabella was born and although I’m a third-time mum, I honestly felt like I had forgotten everything I was meant to be doing - especially with feeding.
"The midwives at Musgrove Park Hospital and my lovely community midwife were so helpful and understanding, talking me through it and making me feel like no question was silly! I was also looked after so well during my pregnancy by the lovely team at East Surrey Hospital. Thank you to everyone; you all do a fantastic job."
It comes as Peter spoke to OK! about the emotional meaning behind Arabella's name. After weeks of deliberating over a moniker, Peter and Emily finally revealed what their adorable baby girl is called.
In his exclusive column, Peter explained that it links to big sister Millie as that's what they named her for the first few weeks of her life. He also revealed what Arabella's sweet nickname is, as they settle into their baby bubble.
He said: "A couple of weeks ago I said to Emily that it was down to her to pick a baby name – after all, she’d brought our baby into the world. Emily wanted us to decide together, but when she came up with the name Arabella Rose, I immediately thought, “That’s so beautiful.”
"I guess it’ll be Bella or Belle for short. Her name suits her perfectly and “Rose” is what we originally called Millie for the first few weeks. Our family feels complete.
"All of the kids are obsessed with their new sister – she’s just so adorable. Junior and Princess have been amazing at helping us out, too. I feel very blessed."
