ICYMI, the ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ Cast Just Had an Epic Reunion!

In the event that you wanted to start your week off with some ~wholesome~ news, we're pleased to report that Blake Lively shared a carousel of snaps that celebrated her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costar America Ferrera after she attended a special screening that honored the Superstore actor's performance in the Barbie movie.

The event, which was held by SAG-AFTRA in New York City on Friday, December 15, was also attended by Tibby and Lena—aka fellow Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel. And being the ultimate BFF that she is, Blake used the occasion to praise America and the friendship they share.

"Some weeks are for the man in your life. Some weeks are for the women," the Gossip Girl alum began her caption. Referring to America as her "denim sister" ('kay, iconic!), Blake lauded the Barbie star's performance and gushed that, "She’s the heart and soul of @barbiethemovie because she’s the heart and soul of everything she’s a part of. I’ve known her for 20 years. Since I was 16. I’ve watched her live, grow, soar, fall, make, break, push, fight, win, create, forge, disrupt, way make, lead, lead, lead."

In the Greta Gerwig film, the actor plays Gloria and delivers a moving speech to Margot Robbie's Barbie about what it means to be a woman in the world, which Blake noted in her touching tribute: "That speech she gives as Gloria felt as close to real as anything I’ve ever seen on screen. Because that’s who she is. She’s that spectacular, passionate, inspiring and full of heart in her own life. I can’t wait to watch her sweep awards up across her living room floor. No one deserves it more…for a lifetime of brilliant work. It’s one of my life’s honors to witness her show so many women not only what’s possible, but HOW it’s done. I love you sister. Always."

The It Ends With Us star then concluded her post with a nostalgic reference to the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films, writing, "Pants = Love. Love your sisters. Love yourself."

And obvi, America showed the love back by writing this sweet note in the comments section: "🥹 When your girl gives good hype. I love you forever sis. 🥹 💕."

Plus, she uploaded her own post and reflected on the incredible evening:

Back in July, the Barbie star revealed to Vanity Fair that her epic monologue took two full days to film and "probably 30 to 50" takes to master. The actor also praised director Greta Gerwig for giving her "so much freedom" with the speech, which was even altered during filming after the director and actor added a section where America's character muses on the toll that always having to appear grateful takes on women.

"There were moments in shooting the movie where Greta really had written something in a very specific way that she heard a very specific way in her head with particular cadence in a particular speed or a particular inflection," America said during the convo. "I thought maybe this would be like that, but it was the opposite. She wanted me to completely make it my own and find it as we did it."

*Le sigh* Fine! I'll watch Barbie for the 15th time.
