Harry Judd’s son, 3, rushed to hospital after ‘traumatic’ accident at home as wife Izzy issues warning
McFly star Harry Judd’s three year old son Lockie had to be rushed to hospital earlier this week, and Harry’s wife Izzy took to social media to warn other parents about the household danger that had injured her son. Alongside a black and white photo of Lockie holding his mum’s hand, Izzy explained on Wednesday 30 October how the family ended up going to A&E after Lockie got some of the liquid from a washing pod in his eye.
Izzy, who shares Lockie, seven year old daughter Lola and five year old Kit with Harry, wrote: “It’s been a traumatic few days… the reason I’m sharing this is because I don’t want another family to experience this and although we all get told the risks of cleaning products at home, reminders are always important.”
She went on to describe what had happened. “So Lockie managed to get hold of a washing pod which he then burst open and managed to get into his eyes very badly. In that split second I wasn’t there, I also forgot to put the washing pods away,” she said, adding a broken heart emoji.

“We rushed to the hospital,” she continued, “Lockie’s Ph levels in his eyes were 8 and they need to be 7. It took all night flushing out Lockie’s eyes with 22 litres of fluid before finally getting the Ph down. We couldn’t be more grateful to the @nhsengland A&E nurses who showed unbelievable dedication and kindness, not only to Lockie but also to me. As you can imagine it was pretty horrendous having to watch and put Lockie through that, he doesn’t like getting his hair washed let alone having to lie there for 10 minutes for each litre of fluid.”

Izzy then wrote: “We are now being closely monitored as his right eye is injured from the chemicals, we are in the best hands though and I’m so grateful to the specialists. Little Lockie is such a determined and brave little boy.”
She finished by adding a warning to all parents about washing pods and other household items that can be dangerous for children. “So please, please put cleaning products high up and completely out of reach – this has been my scariest moment as a mum. I’m so sorry for others who have experienced these kind of awful accidents too.”
Many fans took to the comments to share their best wishes for Lockie’s recovery and to add their own experiences. One wrote: “Those pods are too attractive looking, I worry about them,” while another added: “Please be kind to yourself, it is so easy for these things to happen, it literally takes seconds. Sending lots of love,” and a third said: “The exact thing happened to me and my little one a few years back, he bit it and it exploded in his eye. Thankfully he recovered quickly and we have been mindful ever since.”
There were also best wishes for the family from celebrity friends including Gaby Roslin, Joel Dommett, Ashley James and This Morning's Dr Zoe Williams, who wrote: “Oh Izzy, so sorry you both went through this. Sending love and thank you for sharing – a really helpful reminder to us all!”
The NHS advice if you get cleaning products in your eyes is to “go to A&E or call 999 if a strong chemical such as oven cleaner or bleach is in your eye. Keep rinsing your eye with water while mating for medical help. Follow the advice on the packaging if any household products get in your eyes.”
Harry is currently spending time with his family before his band McFly go out on tour with Busted next year. The 2025 Busted Vs McFly tour will have the two boy bands battling it out over 14 gigs to decide who is the best band.
