Halle Berry is known for her sultry photos on the 'gram, but the mom of two switched things up as she shared one of her favorite children's books with fans and explained why every family that has a little one needs to pick it up.

In a photo she posted on Instagram Friday, the Oscar winner can be seen lying down on a plush blanket, rocking black shades, and flashing a megawatt smile, as she cradles the book I Used to Be Afraid by Laura Vaccaro Seeger ($15; amazon.com). While neither one of her children's faces is visible in the shot, one of their tiny hands can be seen in the snap touching Berry's sunglasses and face.

"Fam, it's #HBBooksFromBed time! If you have a child, niece, nephew, grandchild, God-child, little brother or sister who is at the age where they are frightened by just about anything, I Used to Be Afraid will be a helpful book for them," she captioned the shot. "It's been a favorite in our family since it was published. Now my kids love to read this book to their friends, both imaginary and real. Happy reading with the youngsters in your life! #LauraVaccaroSeeger."

Berry is mom to Nahla, 8, and Maceo, 2, who helped her ring in her 50th birthday with a beach-filled vacay. Before they headed back home, the Extant star shared an Instagram photo of her and her children's feet in the sand, writing alongside it, "All good vacays must come to an end."
