Good Morning Britain got off to a rocky start this Tuesday morning after the ITV show faced major technical difficulties live on-air. Viewers quickly took to social media after presenters' microphones cut out for 60 seconds.

Susanna Reid and Ed Balls are on presenting duty this Tuesday morning - however, the show faced chaos when its audio cut out during the local news segment. After the pair handed over to ITV London presenter Sally Biddulph and her team, the hosts' audio failed and some viewers were left with just the Good Morning Britain theme music.

Fans quickly shared the news on social media, with one writing: "Looks like @gmb silenced @SallyBiddulph this morning on @itvlondon. All we heard was music. Couldn't hear @SallyWeather either."

Others took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask what the problem during the audio failure. "What happened to the sound @GMB," one viewer wrote.

"#GMB The music stopped still no sound," another tweeted, as others wrote: "We couldn't hear you @itvlondon just the @GMB music."

Some even described the segment as "pointless" after watching a series of clips with no commentary during the segment. "#GMB That was pointless," one wrote.

Earlier this week, hosts Ed and Susanna teased their co-star Laura Tobin after the weather presenter arrived at the show in her outfit from the TV BAFTAs the night before. "Laura, we're going to address what you came in to work wearing this morning," Susanna said on Monday.

Ed chimed in: "I think it's the dress in this photo, just before 5 am this morning," with the show airing an image of Laura striking a pose in her BAFTA dress outside her GMB dressing room.

"Oh no, I'm so embarrassed," Laura admitted. But Ed wasn't done poking fun as he asked: "From the after party? Did you go all night?" to which Laura quickly retorted: "No I went to bed at a reasonable time.

"But I can't unzip my dress without help so I realised when I got back to my room, no one could help me so I had to sleep in the dress," she added. Ed playfully mocked: "That is the least convincing excuse I've heard in my whole life!" Laura then insisted: "That is the whole truth and nothing but the truth."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
