How To Get FIIT, The #1 Fitness App, For Free
It’s no surprise that gym floors are feeling busy this month. According to a recent YouGov survey, one in six Brits said they wanted to prioritise their fitness in 2025.
But here’s the thing: good intentions aren’t always sustainable, especially if you’ve got tunnel vision on one specific goal. Go too hard, and you’ll probably also go home.
‘In my twenty years in the industry, I’ve seen countless people go too hard when chasing one particular aim, only to burn out completely,' says Men’s Health Fitness Director, Andrew Tracey. 'Even if they do reach that goal, they often fall out of love with the process and step back from exercise altogether.'
While we all have goals, the way we approach them is key, he says: ‘Problems occur when we believe that training, exercise, or even movement in general must always be geared towards some specific, definable purpose, and that the only value of movement is in helping us fulfill that purpose.’
Instead, we need to take a step back and think about our goals long-term, and whether the way we are currently training will actually support this. ‘If your primary goal is to live a happy, healthy, capable, and confident life – and to make that life as long as possible —there’s a high chance that you don’t need to follow a streamlined, hardcore training plan,’ says AT.
Instead, he recommends diversifying your ‘exercise identity’, broadening out and investigating a wide range of different styles of movement: ‘Look for the ones you enjoy and that move the needle on your current goals, but stay relaxed enough to move on to the next one when the time comes, instead of giving up on movement altogether.’
To help you do this, we’ve teamed up with our friends at FIIT, who have a library of workouts a massive spectrum of training styles, plans, and goals, all available on-demand. Think of it as the perfect way to try something new, without it costing you a penny.
