Meghan Markle's wedding dress: We predict what the royal-to-be might wear on her big day
When news of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement hit, most fashion fans’ first question was: what will she wear?
The American actress has already had her fair share of wedding dresses, marrying once in real life and (almost) once on screen.
For her first marriage to Trevor Engelson in 2011, she reportedly chose a “sleek, strapless, floor-length white dress with diamanté waist detail.” And for her ‘Suits’ character Rachel Zane’s failed wedding, Meghan went for a fairytale beaded gown.
Funnily enough, the 36-year-old has spoken at length about the kinds of wedding dresses she does and doesn’t like. She admitted that Rachel Zane’s look wasn’t her “personal style”, naming Carolyn Bassette Kennedy’s Narciso Rodriguez slip dress as her favourite celebrity wedding look of all time.
Tradition dictates that royals should marry in a dress designed by a British name but Meghan may well honour her heritage by selecting an American label for her big day. If so, names like Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and indeed Narciso Rodriguez could be on the wedding dress cards.
Meghan has also namedropped the likes of Elie Saab and J. Mendel in the past, saying she is a major fan of their bridal designs.
Here are a few of our (very unofficial) predictions for the royal wedding dress of 2018.
