Emmerdale fans 'uncover' Rose's real identity as Will Taylor has an uncomfortable reunion
Emmerdale has revealed that newcomer Rose (played by Christine Tremarco) is actually the estranged mother of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) in the latest instalment.
The much-loved soap previously announced that Rose would be connected to Dawn's father Will Taylor (played by Dean Andrews). But in Thursday's episode, Will reconnected with Rose, a very important person from his past, in a tense encounter after receiving an unusual call to get to the hospital.
In the scenes leading up to the uncomfortable moment, Will took a phone call from the hospital alerting him to the news that Rose had been in an accident.
Will kept the news from his family and rushed off to go to the hospital where Rose's real identity was confirmed. Will was shocked to see his ex-wife and mother of daughter Dawn at the hospital.
But she was cracking jokes with the nurses as Will arrived having been called as her next of kin. Rose cheerily explained that she'd fallen down the stairs during a "boozy all-nighter", as an unnerved Will listened.
He wanted his contact information to be removed from her file as next of kin. He said: "We mean nothing to each other." Rose cheekily replied: "Same page, babycakes! There's a first, eh?"
The two bickered about being in a relationship years ago, with Rose insisting she "had to leave to live". Will hit back at Rose for "ditching her daughter" confirming that Rose is Dawn's long-lost mother. "She's alive, safe, happy, then I'm good," Rose said of Dawn.
Rose admitted to Will that she left because being a young mother "stuck at home" was never meant to be her future. When Will explained Dawn was forced into care during his prison stint, Rose boasted she'd spent a week in a Spanish jail once too.
"Dawn grew up alone and unloved, and all because you didn't care enough to leave a forwarding address," Will declared.
Rose appeared completely unfazed and when a nurse interrupted his rant as Will walked away. Returning to Home Farm, Will was asked by Kim what he had been up to, but he managed to cover his tracks.
Will kept it all secret but Kim later discovered he'd been looking at her social media and was trouble. Have we genuinely seen the last of Rose?
