Fanning is, of course, far from the first to brave the bob in recent weeks. Fellow actress Sydney Sweeney also retired her long blonde hair in favour of a classic, chin-length crop for the Oscars earlier this month. Tempted to go for the chop yourself? “Ask for a length that suits your face and proportions,” is hair stylist and trend forecaster Tom Smith's advice. “Between the collarbone and jaw is best, styled with either a side parting or a middle parting," he told Bazaar, in regard to the 'old-money' bob. "If your face is wider, opt for a longer length, while if it is longer or slimmer, have the length sit closer to the chin.”
