The Rock labels Pierce Brosnan a 'sharp dressed man' as the pair embrace pink 'Barbiecore' trend
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has taken to Instagram to compliment his Black Adam co-star, Pierce Brosnan, on the action film’s press tour, labelling the ex-Bond actor a “sharp dressed man”
Johnson, 50, took to the social media platform on Wednesday to share a picture of himself with the Irish actor laughing with each other on the roof of London’s Corinthia Hotel on Monday.
The pair joined fellow Black Adam co-stars Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, Aldis Hodge and Sarah Shahi in matching magenta outfits for a photocall ahead of the film’s release on Friday.
“‘Cos every girl’s crazy ‘bout a sharp dressed man,” wrote the former WWE World Champion on his Instagram page, before sharing his affection for Brosnan, 69.
“I love this Irishman,” Johnson continued. “Good man.”
“Strong mana,” he added, referencing the spiritual life force energy or healing power in Melanesian and Polynesian cultures. “He is the PERFECT “DR. FATE” in our movie.”
Johnson, who plays the DC film’s titular character, wore a shocking-pink John Smedley knitted polo beneath a black leather bomber jacket by Dolce & Gabbana with shiny Christian Louboutin shoes, whilst Brosnan went all out on the ‘Barbiecore’ trend in a hot-pink two-piece Viggo London suit with pointed brown suede Chelsea boots.

Although their joking and laughing may have had us thinking otherwise, The Rock’s stylist Ilaria Urbinati confirmed in a comment on her Instagram post that the two Hollywood stars wearing the same shade was all just a “nice coincidence.”
Colour-chameleon Harry Styles has been spotted in a pink suit on many occasions, and fashion-forward Timothée Chalamet has been impartial to the softer version of the shade on the red carpet.
But Johnson and Brosnan are proving that the over-50s still know how to rock an eye-catching colour in front of the camera.

Also having challenging style conventions of late, Brad Pitt also put his own spin on the ‘Barbiecore’ trend – named for the pink colour’s resemblance to the Mattel toy – in the summer at the Bullet Train premiere in Seoul where the actor slipped into an eye-catching, bubblegum pink suit by up-and-coming designer Haans Nicholas Mott.
Both Johnson and Brosnan (and Pitt, for that matter), have come a long way on the style front since the start of their careers in the 1990s, and are proving men can have fun and wear a variety of vibrant shades, no matter their age.
