Duchess of Cambridge debuts tiny baby bump in £795 lace Temperley dress

Last night, royal fans were delighted to see the Duchess of Cambridge making her first appearance since announcing her third pregnancy in September.

The public hadn’t caught a glimpse of the 35-year-old royal since August 30. The Duchess was forced to take six weeks off royal duties (and announce her pregnancy earlier than planned) after suffering from severe morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum, once again.

On Tuesday night, she appeared fit and healthy, hosting a Buckingham Palace reception in honour of World Mental Health Day.

Arriving alongside Prince William and Prince Harry, Kate was radiant in a pale blue lacy dress by British brand Temperley London. The £795 design, from the label’s AW17 collection, is a gloriously old-fashioned style, featuring Victoriana detailing including long sleeves and a tie neck.

Surprisingly, it hasn’t sold out just yet so you’d better be quick if you want a taste of the Duchess style. If you’re not a fan of the powder blue, the midi dress also comes in black and white.

On her feet, the Duchess chose her trusty black suede Gianvito Rossi heels. Costing £470, you can still snap these up too. A matching suede Mulberry clutch topped off the demure look.

Although Kate was all smiles at the event, a royal aide revealed that she was still unwell, saying: “The Duchess’ condition is improving but she is still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. She is delighted to be able to be here tonight.”

Several charity ambassadors also attended the reception including president of Mind, Stephen Fry. Commenting on Kate’s appearance, the national treasure said: “I do understand she’s been having this problem more severely than many pregnant mothers and so we’re very grateful [she’s here].”

Moving on to talk about the topic of mental health of which Kate, Harry and William are ardent supporters, Fry continued: “When mental health is discussed here under these chandeliers in front of these portraits, it does have a meaning, it does show a change in our society’s ability to look at problems like mental health.”

He finished by calling the royal trio’s Heads Together campaign an “extraordinary achievement.”

It is expected that Kensington Palace will announce Kate’s due date soon after she has passed the crucial 12-week pregnancy mark.
