Dua Lipa Met Queen Camilla Ahead of Presenting the Booker Prize
The queen consort of the United Kingdom just met pop royalty.
Earlier this week, Queen Camilla met Dua Lipa at the ceremony for the 2022 Booker Prize for Fiction in London.
While Camilla presented this year's award, marking one of her first solo public engagements since she became the queen consort, Lipa delivered a keynote speech "on how a love of reading has shaped her imagination, her identity, and her career as a global pop superstar," per the Booker Prize website.
In photos, the two women seem to be enjoying a spirited conversation. Camilla looked elegant in a long-sleeved black lace dress, with accessories like diamond drop earrings and gold bracelets.
Meanwhile, the "Don't Start Now" singer offered a witchy take on eveningwear, opting for a black velvet, off-the-shoulder dress from Burberry's spring 2023 collection, which she styled with sheer black opera gloves with a diamond pattern. For jewelry, Lipa wore gold Tiffany & Co. Elsa Peretti teardrop earrings.
Later on Instagram, Lipa reflected on being invited to talk about her passion for literature at the ceremony.
"Reading gives me so much joy, so it was an absolute honour to speak last night at the Booker Prize ceremony," she wrote, captioning a video of herself at the event. "Thank you to the Booker Prize Foundation for having me. I loved all of the shortlisted books without exception but special congratulations to Shehan Karunatilaka for winning with his remarkable novel The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida."
