Dua Lipa has shared that her parents "love to party" which led to a rather awkward run-in with them at a club when she was out with some friends. Opening up about this during her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, the Dance The Night singer, said: "My parents are here in the audience.

"As you can see they're kinda cool. They love to party. One night I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at 3 o'clock in the morning and who do I bump into but my parents."

She then quipped: "Which was embarrassing because the last thing you want to see when you're super high and drunk off your arse is your daughter."

Sharing her appreciation of her parents, Dua continued: "But really, they've always been so supportive. They let me move from Kosovo to London when I was just 15 to start my career, and now my third album just dropped."

Last year, Dua made her big screen debut in the hit film Barbie, where she played Mermaid Barbie. She also wrote and performed the song Dance The Night for the film's soundtrack.

However, fans of the singer were rather disappointed when she only appeared onscreen for a total of 30 seconds, with the movie itself having a runtime of 114 minutes. Throughout the film she has a total of five cameos, getting most screen time when she offers John Cena's merman character a beer.

After the movie release in cinemas fans were quick to express that they'd hoped they would see more of the singer. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one wrote: "post-Barbie thoughts (might have spoilers): 1. i didn’t expect the movie to end like THAT but i also don’t think there’s a better way to end it. Genius. 2. I wish Dua Lipa had more screen-time."

Another added: "There's not enough Dua Lipa in the Barbie movie." While a third said: "Ok Barbie is a great movie, but the fact that Dua Lipa comes out already elevates it to another level."

Since appearing in Barbie, Dua has also made a cameo in the spy film Argylle. Speaking about acting on her At Your Service podcast in 2022, she said: ""For me it's like baby steps.

"That's also just the best way to discover yourself as well. Rather than throwing yourself in the deep end with something that maybe you can't completely tackle head on.

"I think my biggest fear would be taking on a really big role and being, like, 'F**k! - now I have to be an actor and feel these emotions and feelings on camera,' when I haven't brought myself up to that point yet."
