The dating red flag for each zodiac sign, according to an astrologist

You know that feeling when you are starting a relationship with someone and suddenly they do something that completely puts you off? That’s a dating red flag.

From excessive phone use, to being rude to wait staff, you probably know what sets you off, but do you know what your red flag is?

Well, if you’re an Aquarius you might be too forward, while Cancers are too clingy and not independent enough, according to a leading astrologist.

"Every sign in the zodiac will display different red flags. Unique traits and characteristics of each sign can come together to create personality types that seem a bit suspect in romantic situations," BonusFinder psychic and astrologer, Inbaal Honigman, says.

So whether you want to know what your red flag is, or the red flag of the person you are dating, read on.

Aries (March 21 - April 19): Obsessed with the gym

The gym is a safe space for an Aries, says Honigman. "If you'd rather not date someone whose haven is the gym, Aries might not be for you."

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Reclusive or indoorsy

Despite its bull symbol, Taurus is a calm and peaceful sign that loves the feeling of safety that being indoors offers.

"Those born under the sign of the bull love life, but hate bugs, sweat and dirt," Honigman says. So you probably won't find a Taurus pitching a tent any time soon.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Follows high numbers of the opposite sex on social media

Gemini is a sociable and friendly sign and they love having multiple circles of friends. "Therefore, social media is essential for Geminis - this is how they can keep in touch with everyone," Honigman explains.

If you're easily threatened, dating a Gemini probably isn't the right call for you.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Clingy, not independent

Cancer is known for being a loving sign, but their deep family ties means they're also not terribly independent.

"If their mum still packs them a week's worth of work lunches, that's just how they show love," Honigman says.

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Only talks about themselves

The proud lion, Leos are their own biggest cheerleaders. "Those born under the sign of the lion aren't ashamed to share their joy in their successes, but it may come across as vain," Honigman explains.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): Excessive phone use

Is your date constantly checking their phone? They're probably a Virgo.

"The sign of the virgin is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication, so being plugged into the information superhighway is a non-negotiable for them," Honigman says.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Doesn’t like animals

Librans like an elegant space, and this is something that pets just aren't compatible with.

"Librans would rather have no mud, hair or scratches on their furniture or boots," Honigman explains. "If you're a fan of big bouncy dogs and weekends of horse riding, a Libra might be wrong for you."

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Secretive, won't share passwords

A fiery sign, Scorpio is also quiet, intense, and likes to keep personal matters to themselves.

"If you don't feel secure in a relationship with secrets, you won't enjoy falling in love with a Scorpio," Honigman warns.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): No fashion sense

If you're an avid trend follower, then free-spirited Sagittarius's with their colourful and unique fashion sense probably won't hit the right mark for you.

"Sagittarius don't let anyone tell them what's right and what's wrong. If it's fun, they'll do it," Honigman says.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Doesn’t tip

Sensible, driven and ambitious, a Capricorn knows excellence when they see it - and they reward it too.

"If service is incredible they'll tip above and beyond," Honigman says. "But if service is poor, those born under the sign of the sea-goat will tip nothing, as they don't see the point of rewarding shoddy work."

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Is too forward

The most honest zodiac sign, you'll always know where you stand with an Aquarius - but this isn't always a good thing.

"Those born under the sign of the water-bearer are humanitarian and candid, which makes them come across as if they're quite forward," Honigman says.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20): Just got out of a long-term relationship

The most romantic sign, Pisces are a sucker for monogamy.

"If you're lucky enough to date someone born under the sign of the fish, they've probably just got out of a long and meaningful relationship," Honigman says.
