This is the biggest red flag for dates according to 80% of Brits

If you are currently in the dating pool or have dated in the past, you probably know what a red flag is.

A red flag is a warning sign that the person you are dating is not quite right for you, and is often used for something minor like a mannerism that gives you the “ick”.

Now, a new survey has revealed the trait that most Brits say is their biggest turn off.

A whopping four out of five Brits (78.9%) say that someone not being independent enough is their biggest red flag, whether this means they rely on their parents too much or if they are too easily influenced by others.

In a close second, the survey of 2,200 adults by BonusFinder found that people who only talk about themselves are a huge red flag (76.2%), while over three quarters (75.7%) of respondents said that talking about their ex-partners too much is the worst thing you can do on a date.

Other red flags included having no fashion sense (74.5%), getting your name wrong (70.7%), being lazy (70.1%), being rude to others (64.9%), and excessive phone use (61.9%).

Using Gen Z slang words like “yeet, cop or bussin’” was also found to be a red flag by 57.8% of respondents, as was following a high number of the opposite sex on social media (56.3%).

  11. Follows high numbers of the opposite sex on social media

  12. Just got out of a long term relationship

  13. Too reclusive/doesn’t like the outdoors

  14. Bad spelling or grammar

  15. Doesn’t like animals

This survey comes after experts revealed the six relationship red flags that should never be ignored.

These included things like your partner talking to much about their ex, a bad feeling in your gut, and not talking through issues.
