The best Jellycats to shop nowHearst Owned

If you haven’t heard of Jellycats, they’re essentially the modern version of Beanie Babies, complete with their own super fans and collectibles.

The brand was launched by Thomas Gatacre 25 years ago but has really become popular on TikTok (where else?) in the past few years. The sweet plushies are meant to be aimed at children, yet the London-based brand has created such a huge range of designs that these fun, cuddly toys have become popular with people of all ages. Jellycat croissant bag anyone?

In the quirky Amuseables line (which launched in 2018), you’ll find everything from avocado on toast and fluffy footballs, to a boiled egg wearing a groom's top hat. Meanwhile, in the main collection, each toy has its own character and name, such as Ricky Rain Frog or Cooper Doodle Dog, making them fun to collect – one of the reasons they’ve become so sought-after in recent years.

But with so many smiley toys and instantly loveable characters to shop, it can be a little overwhelming trying to work out which Jellycat to buy – and which will be the best investment. The limited edition and retired models are the most valuable among collectors, and if you can get your hands on the ever-out-of-stock Peach, you're on to a winner, just FYI.

That’s why we’ve rounded up the very best Jellycats for all ages and personalities to make it easier than ever to shop the viral range.

Where to buy Jellycats

The brand has its own website, which is home to the entire collection of plush toys. You can also find lots of Jellycat toys as well as backpacks and keyring charms at big retailers such as Selfridges, Fenwick and Harrods to name a few. You’ll even find Jellycats on Amazon.

Some Jellycats are exclusive though and are only available in certain locations. The funky Fish & Chips plush is only available in-store at Selfridges, where the team will take your order, wrap up your Fish & Chips and even sprinkle Salt and Vinegar (the Jellycat versions) over them for you. It’s a fun, interactive event that’s incredibly popular – make sure you book so you don’t miss out!

While Jellycats are pricey (typically around £35), they’re well-built, great quality, and have a soft, luxurious feel. Really, it’s no surprise that they’re a go-to gift for many this Christmas. These are our favourite Jellycats for kids (big and small) this year.

Viggo Mammoth

He’s pricey but for a good reason. Viggo sits at an impressive 37cm tall and boasts a big, squishy tummy that’s perfect for cuddling up to or even using as a pillow! While his long, curved fangs may make him seem scary, in reality, he’s just a super soft friend with a long, floppy trunk and flicky tail.

There are 25 colours to choose from, as well as seven sizes ranging from tiny (£17) to giant (£225). Whatever you opt for though, this bunny will make a gorgeous, timeless gift.

Amuseable Sandcastle

Just one look at this sandcastle and we were obsessed. The little smiley face adds heaps of character, and we love the addition of the two pastel-coloured shells. It also has us reminiscing about summer days on the beach...

Ricky Rain Frog Christmas Hanging Decoration

There’s no escape from the fact that Jellycats are expensive, but this Christmas decoration is ideal if you’re shopping on a smaller budget.

Ricky Rain Frog is a popular character and here he dons a traditional Santa hat – he still has his usual grumpy mouth though. What better way to liven up the Christmas tree this year?

Amuseables Snowball

You're going to have to be quick to nab this little round rascal as all of the Christmas special edition characters are going fast. It fits in little hands perfectly and is very, very fluffy. We're also fans of the mocha velour boots.

Amuseable Pair of Toadstools

These two are fun-guys (sorry). The cuddly duo stand at 27cm tall and are growing out of a fluffy mound of moss. Their happy, smiling faces are enough to cheer anyone up.

Small Amuseable Pineapple Plush Soft Toy

Lots of Jellycat’s amuseable food plushies are often sold out (particularly the Fabulous Fruit Peach *sighs*) but this Pineapple is a great alternative. It has a funky, green hairdo and a soft body with that trademark smiley face – we just love it!

Backpack Dino

Who wouldn't fall in love with this cute little green dinosaur, who's just waiting to go on an adventure with its toothy smile and removable dino-themed backpack. Roar-some (sorry).

It’s hot chocolate season so it only makes sense to have a hot chocolate-themed Jellycat too. This one is topped with super soft whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles (not edible ones), all housed in a fluffy red mug with the familiar Amuseables smiley face.
