Cult children's TV star Bluey to join Strictly Come Dancing special episode
The beloved animated TV pup Bluey is set to make a paw-some appearance on the Strictly Come Dancing floor for the BBC Children In Need appeal show. The adorable character from the hit Australian children's TV series will join the professional dancers to showcase some playful moves, including the mashed potato, alligator, and the floss, encouraging viewers to dance along from home.
Since its 2018 debut, Bluey has captured hearts worldwide and earned acclaim for addressing topics like mental health with sensitivity. For this special performance, Bluey will be dancing with pros Dianne Buswell (a fellow Australian, of course), Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, Johannes Radebe, and Michelle Tsiakkas, bringing a whole new level of fun to the dancefloor.
Broadcasting live from Salford, the charity event boasts an impressive line-up of hosts: with Paralympian Ade Adepitan, comedians Mel Giedroyc and Chris Ramsey, radio star Vernon Kay (who has been married to Strictly host Tess Daly since 2003, a year before she joined the show), pop sensation Rochelle Humes, and award-winning actor Lenny Rush all joining in for the special episode.

Neil Jones, aged 42 and a seasoned pro dancer on the BBC competition, expressed his excitement at the special episode (and in particular, Bluey's appearance), saying, "Many stars have taken to the ballroom over the years but this is next level. I can’t think of any other better occasion for us to say G’day to Bluey than for BBC Children In Need. It’s going to be Fab-Blue-Lous!"
Meanwhile, Sam Moor from Ludo Studio shared the team's delight at having Bluey grace the Strictly stage, remarking on the privilege of sharing her iconic dance moves with the audience, saying: “We are so privileged to have Bluey invited on to the Strictly dancefloor to share some of her iconic dance moves.
“Our animators have done an awesome job to bring her into the glittering glamour of the Strictly world and we can’t wait for fans of both shows to enjoy the moment on the Children In Need night.”
