How we got here...

Back in our January issue, we asked you, our readers, to submit your original recipes that you deemed perfect for a coronation celebration – with a chance to win a sublime KitchenAid Design Series Blossom Artisan 4.7L Tilt Head Stand Mixer.

As the entries flooding in and the closing date passed, Meike Beck, Cookery Director, set to selecting our shortlist. This was by no means easy, as the creativity on offer (both in savoury and sweet ideas) was quite incredible. She finally settled on five, which her team agreed with. Next up, as per all Good Housekeeping recipes, their shortlist was put through its paces in our state-of-the art kitchens, to test method, consistency, timings and serving sizes. Not to mention flavour! Happily, all 5 made it through to our final judging day, held at the end of January with esteemed guest judge Monica Galetti, Good Housekeeping editor-in-chief Gaby Huddart, and Meike Beck herself. They were unanimous in our final 3 line-up and our winner was crowned. The recipes were made and enjoyed once more on the Cookery Team's beautiful food shoot, ready to be featured in print and for everyone to try.

The winners were:

First place:

Anita Ward's Cherry Chocolate Coronation Couronne

Second place:

Fiona Ravenscroft's Watercress and Cheddar Scones with Poached Potted Salmon

Third place:

Kayleigh Brandon's Four Corners Tortilla Loaf
