Christine Lampard nearly throws up on Lorraine as star left gagging on live TV

As excitement gathers for the new series of ITV jungle challenge I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Lorriane stand-in presenter Christine Lampard got a taste of the jungle experience on this morning’s show – quite literally. But the star’s brush with jungle life didn’t end well, however, as at one point it looked like Christine might be about to throw up live on TV.

The ITV1 show ran a segment based around I’m A Celeb. The presenter was joined by Joel Dommett live from Australia, who was runner-up in the 2016 series, and is presenting the daily spin-off show I'm a Celebrity Unpacked. Joel set Christine and guests - entertainment correspondent Lucy Cave and fashion expert Mark Heyes – a challenge. Revealing that there was to be a drinking challenge on the first show, he asked them to taste one of the drinks that would be used.

"This is the worst drink out of all of the drinks," he explained, revealing the the drink contained "what we call vomit fruit. It is a real fruit but it tastes and smalls like real vomit." In anticipation, the trio were given waste bins in case they needed them to spit out the vile drink... or worse.

Asa Christine went to take a sip, she suddenly backed off covering her mouth, looking like she was about to be rather unwell. "I can't even smell that," she declared. "That is one of the most hideous things I have ever, ever had." Lucy took one for the team as she drained her drink, and as Christine recovered, Mark admitted he very nearly has to use his bin. "This is absolutely hideous," Christine concluded. "It makes you fully appreciate what they have to go through."

The new series of I’m A Celebrity starts on 17 November, and is once again being filmed in New South Wales, with Ant and Dec as hosts.

Singer Tulisa Contostavlos, WAG Coleen Rooney, boxer Barry McGuigan, singer Danny Jones, presenter Melvin O'Doom, dancer Oti Mabuse, Corrie star Alan Halsall, Loose Women presenter Jane Moore, presenter and influencer GK Barry and radio presenter Dean McCullough are the stars featuring on the new series of the show.

Late additions rumoured include the Reverend Richard Coles and Maura Higgins, who are also expected to be jetting off to Oz - though she was last night spotted flying in the other direction, to Las Vegas.

Before the show has even started, bookies are already betting that McFly's Danny will take home the jungle home. With Danny's winning streak on The Masked Singer and his bandmate Dougie Poynter's Jungle victory back in 2011, many are predicting he will follow suit.
