Christine Lampard issues apology as ITV viewers left fuming over grim confession

Christine Lampard, the host of ITV's Lorraine, was left red-faced and quickly issued an apology after Tyler West shared a rather too vivid account of a backstage mishap.

The 45 year old presenter was chatting with the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant on Tuesday's show (April 9) when the conversation took an unexpected turn. Tyler, 28, was there to spill the tea on who might be shimmying onto the Strictly dance floor in 2024, with Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham's name popping up as a potential contestant.

He reminisced about his own time on the BBC dance competition in 2022, hinting that Hannah, 49, would be an amazing potential contestant. However, he revealed the not-so-glamorous side of the dazzling outfits.

Chatting to Christine, he said: "You know what the costumes are like. Sometimes you're literally sewn in," before sharing a cringe-worthy anecdote. "Before I did my Charleston I was sewn into the costume and my belly wasn't agreeing with me."

Tyler didn't stop there, adding: "I was a little bit nervous before I was about to go on the floor. It was touching cloth, it was a close encounter." The Express reports Christine was visibly taken aback, her hands flying to her head as Tyler concluded with: "It was the quickest I've ever ripped my clothes off."

The Loose Women panelist could only muster an "Oh my goodness" before turning to the audience with an apology. "Apologies if you're eating your breakfast at the minute. We've heard all sorts of things this morning."

Viewers were quick to express their shock on social media about the segment, with one tweeting: "What on earth is going on with today's show? Dr Amir's hard-ons and Tyler s****ing himself." Another was less than impressed, posting: "What the hell? 'Touching Cloth', is there any need when I'm eating my sugar puffs!!"

Tyler, who danced with Dianne Buswell, left Strictly in week seven but found love with co-star Molly Rainford. The pair confirmed their romance last year and have gone from strength to strength as they moved in together earlier this year.
