Channing Tatum says he’ll ‘never forget’ trip to Welsh city with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds
When it comes to life in Wrexham, by now the residents of the leafy Welsh border city are no strangers to Hollywood royalty, thanks to the investment of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in local football club Wrexham FC. Yet it appears the appeal of the city has now earned yet another showbiz admirer after Magic Mike star Channing Tatum visited and fell in love with everything it had to offer.
Reflecting on his recent visit on social media, Channing proudly told his followers that his trip was something he’ll “never forget” as he shared a carousel of photos from his time exploring every inch of the former market town, which was granted city status back in 2022.
“Caffeine and dancing aside, that trip to Wrexham was something I’ll never forget,” penned the Jupiter Ascending star. "What Ryan Reynolds @vancityreynolds and @robmcelhenney have done for the community in Wrexham is magic. I spent a few days (and nights) there”

Specifically opening up about what made his visit so special, Channing went on to add: “The team and town have a sense of optimism and a ride or die loyalty that made me want to stay forever. Incredible work, Ryan and Rob. Good people build good things.”
In his closing remarks the actor added: “And thanks to the many beautiful people of Wrexham. Up the town!”
While exploring during his trip, photographs shared online revealed that he had come to experience several key locations including the city centre overlooked by St Giles Church, and the site of the future Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park - a cheeky birthday gift for the actor - which will see a modernisation of the existing facility on Henblas Street turn it into a thriving community hub.
Of course, no visit to Wrexham would be compete without a visit to the football club’s grounds at STōK Cae Ras, where Channing was able to meet some members of the team and say hello to some local fans who had turned out to greet him. Channing is just the latest in a long line of famous faces to visit the football club in recent years, with other stars and close pals of Ryan and Rob including Hugh Jackman, Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.
