CBeebies Bedtime Stories viewers all react with cheeky comment after James Norton's Christmas special
Viewers were left all saying the same thing after James Norton became the latest celebrity to appear on CBeebies Bedtime Story. Following in the footsteps of famous faces including Harry Styles, Kate Middleton and Kylie Minogue, James - known for his role in Happy Valley -appeared on the iconic children’s show on Thursday, 26 December where he read children at home a story just before bedtime.
Despite being aimed at children, it was adults that James, 39, got talking following his stint on the show. After sitting down to ready the hilarious There Is No Big Bad Wolf In This Story by Lou Carter and Deborah Allwright, grown ups commented on how drawn in they were by James’ narration.
Under an Instagram post shared on Cbeebies’ official page promoting the bedtime story, fans of James were quick to gush over the star. “More adults will be tuning in,” wrote one alongside a string of laughing face emojis.

“Get your pjs ready ladies. I don’t think it matters if your children are adults,” commented another. “Another storyteller for the ladies and gentlemen who are rather keen on Mr Norton....,” said a third.
Meanwhile, others shared their excitement over James’ storytelling abilities. “Truly BRILLIANT!! James has such a lovely voice and such a wonderful storyteller. Thanks SO much for sharing. Hoping I'll be able to watch it. The children will be delighted! Wonderful to see and hear!,” wrote one.
Over the years, CBeebies Bedtime Story has seen a whole host of celebrities and royals inspire little ones and adults alike by reading a heartwarming story. Back in October, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh read Specs For Rex by Yasmeen Ismail to mark World Sight Day
In a touching trailer, Sophie said: “Millions of us need glasses to see the world clearly. World Sight Day is a reminder to all of us to take care of our eyes, whether we need glasses or not. Our eyes are precious, and our sight is something to cherish and look after. So, let's remember to take care of our eyes this World Sight Day.”
And just two years ago Kate Middleton captured hearts with her reading of The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark by Jill Tomlinson for the same show. She delivered her story to mark World Mental Health Week, which had a “growing together” theme that year, with the tale telling the story of a young barn owl called Plop, who is helped by others in the forest to grow in confidence and overcome his personal fears.
