Catherine, Princess of Wales felt 'big pressure' choosing children's names
Catherine, Princess of Wales felt "big pressure" choosing names for her and Prince William's three children.
The British royal spoke at the Royal Surrey County Hospital maternity unit in Guildford, England on Wednesday and she expressed her empathy for new mothers.
Deputy director of midwifery at the hospital, Amy Stubbs, recalled the speech in an interview with People.
"She just really talked about her own children including how they chose their names," Amy explained. "A lot of the new mums and dads are thinking about how to choose names for their babies, and they spoke with her about how Kate and William made their choice."
The Prince and Princess of Wales share three children - nine-year-old Prince George, seven-year-old Princess Charlotte, and four-year-old Prince Louis.
"She said they were their favourite names and that obviously the world was waiting for them to name their children - and that felt like quite a big pressure!" Amy continued.
The midwifery deputy director added that Catherine's visit was a hit with new mothers at the unit.
"She was just delightful. She spent a lot of time talking to a lot of the staff and meeting mums and dadas and new babies across the whole service," Amy recounted. "It was really joyful for everyone to have that opportunity and hugely validating for us as a service for her to take the time out to visit us."
