If you haven’t already heard, there are set to be fair few changes to our fashion calendars this season - and no one is shaking things up quite like Burberry.

The British designer, along with Bottega Veneta and Versace, are ditching the old fashion show format which saw separate menswear and womenswear collections.

Instead, the new formula will combine the two creating mixed gender shows, which will certainly make things more interesting. The model was tested back in February at London Fashion Week AW16, but the female models far outweighed the males.

But possibly the most exciting change to Burberry’s new fashion shift is that the luxe label is showcasing a new “see now, buy now” model.

Products will be available to buy as soon as exit off the catwalk - for those that can afford to shop the designer collection.

In the past, we’ve had to wait months before next season’s items hit the stores but now you can order the latest must-haves in real time when the show takes place on September 19.

Burberry has even given us a glimpse at what we can expect to come down the runway. The latest campaign shots, snapped by Mario Testino, are filled with ornate, Victorian styled pieces, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’.

Many fashion brands are in the process of adopting the new ‘“see now, buy now” format in attempt to bring fashion up to speed with todays modern society.

Tommy Hilfiger has revealed it will make the move in Spring 2017. Meanwhile, Prada and Alexander Wang are slowly making some accessories ready to buy hot off the runway.
